Soon after the declaration, the President of CPI, Vital do Rego (PMDB-PB), announced that the application of Demosthenes would be respected, as done with other witnesses who resorted to the constitutional principle of remaining silent on the committee.
Shortly after the announcement of the Rego Vital, Rep. Silvio Costa (PTB-PE) asked to speak and gave a series of charges against Demosthenes.
"Your Excellency spent five hours and could not explain to the country. His silence is the most perfect translation of his guilt. He writes in big letters: I, Demosthenes Torres, but I am a member of the gang of Mr. Waterfall, yes I am the arm legislative gang of Mr. Waterfall ".
